Due to Covid-19 this page can be subject to change
At EUAC we have a small group of throwers, ranging from beginner to advanced, lead by our Throws Secretary Alice and Throws Coach John. We train together several times a week, both together with the rest of the club, as well as some separate, more throws specific sessions. Please join our throws specific facebook group for regular updates.
Typical Week for a Thrower:
This shows the weekly program tailored to throwers. You are very welcome however, to only join the sessions you want to, or come along to any other session run by the club.

The session is be led by our three training secs: Ailsa, Thomas, and Alice. Once in the session, expect a warm-up and dynamic stretching before the real circuits start.

It is a HIIT-style circuit which mostly involves compound movements including variations suitable for all levels of fitness. This session will benefit you regardless of your goals: from keeping fit at University to continuing to compete at a high level. Those in attendance will learn how to perform these exercises correctly, and follow a progressive plan that will adapt as their fitness levels do.

The discipline-tailored sessions are offered in the following forms: sprints/jumps; middle distance; throws; and general, with the last aimed at all-round athletes or those completely new to weights. This session has tremendous benefits for all our members. S&C is for EVERYONE and we cannot stress this enough. While this style of training may seem daunting for those unfamiliar with it, we assure you that anyone can do it (we all started somewhere to whether that was at 12 or 22!). The benefits include injury prevention; improved speed; endurance; strength; mobility: and most importantly the knowledge to safely perform weight training yourself, which will come directly from learning under our coaches. From keeping fit at University having never done athletics before, to continuing to compete at a high level, or even sharpen up your conditioning for another sport our coaches will guide you to success.
